Are you feeling defeated today? You are not alone. Today is the day of Good News. You have the power to change your circumstances by the way you think. You have the ability to be triumphant over your trials, but it is going to take some work on your end. First, we need to get in the right mindset and start speaking life into our circumstances. Proverbs 18:21 tells us that the tongue can bring life or death; those who talk will reap the consequences. If you are thinking and speaking negatively you will reap negative and deadly results. If you are thinking and speaking positively you will reap triumphant victories.
Secondly, we need to come to God with thanksgiving. We need to thank him for all he has done for us, all that he has given us and for the victories that are yet to come. Instead of asking God to change a situation in your life, go ahead and thank him in advance for the victory. Take a new approach to your needs. Paul tells us in the book of Romans not to copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. The behaviors of this world will tell us to look at situations with our fleshly eyes and act upon what you see. When you do this you open the door to enemy. You are making a declaration that you do not need God. As children of God we must have a sound mind and see situations through our spiritual eyes.
Third, we must praise our way through the storms of life. The Ammonites, Moabites, and Meunites declared war on King Jehoshaphat. He was terrified by this news and went to the people of Judah and Jerusalem and prayed to God for assistance. Then, a Levite named Jahaziel spoke to the King telling him not to be afraid or discouraged by the mighty army coming after him for the battle was not his, but God’s. The next day, King Jehoshaphat marched out to the enemies in the wilderness sending the appointed singers ahead of them to sing and praise God for his greatness. They took their positions and stood still. When they began to sing and give praise, God caused the enemy armies confusion and they began to fight and kill one another. When we give thanks to God and sing songs of praises in the midst of our trials we confuse the enemy. Chains are broken! We have the power to overcome the enemy and his devices. Stand still suited up in the armor of God with your feet planted firmly in the Word of God. Let’s be victorious people who confuse the enemy so that his plans do not succeed in the name of Jesus!
